State Department spokesman Ned Price said Sunday evening that the United States would not take unilateral steps to ensure Iran's return to the negotiating table.
Speaking at a State Department news conference, he added:
We call for the resumption of talks to resolve disputes with Iran over a nuclear deal, including sanctions.
A State Department spokesman added:
The US envoy to Iran had constructive talks with Israel on efforts to revive the nuclear deal.
He continued:
Our goal with Israel is to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
Price, meanwhile, claims that Washington and Tel Aviv are trying to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, making the United States one of the world's largest holders of nuclear weapons.
