Monday, 22 November 2021 (YJC)_ Iranian Foreign Minister announced that Iranian administration is about to solve the problems dual nationals are facing when visiting their home country.
Speaking to members of High Council of Iranian Affairs Abroad, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian announced that the country is about to launch an application in otrder to solve the problems dual nationals are facing when visiting their home country.
“An online service will be launched soon by the foreign ministry,” he announced while noting that this application will enables dual nationals to check their legal records before they travel to Iran.
He went on to say that this application will be available within a week and “will help individual by saying you have no problem for entry and return.”
Current Iranian laws do not recognize dual nationality but the current administration and parliament are willing to legislate on the issue to ease legal restrictions facing dual nationals when traveling to Iran.
“Parliament will need to introduce new laws on how dual nationals should be treated,” he said while urging a final settlement of the issue.
