Russia: There is a need for an independent government in Afghanistan

Saturday, 20 November 2021 (YJC)_ Russia's envoy to Afghanistan stressed that Moscow was ready to cooperate in Afghanistan's economic projects, stressing the need for an independent and self-sufficient government in the country.

Russia: There is a need for an independent government in AfghanistanZamir Kabulov, the Russian president's special envoy for Afghanistan, announced his country's readiness to participate in Afghanistan's economic projects.

"There is a need for an independent and self-sufficient government with friendly relations with Russia," he told Russia 24 television.

Kabulov stressed that Russia's main focus is on political stability in Afghanistan.

Putin's envoy also said that the continued US blockade of Afghanistan's central bank reserves would intensify the devaluation of the country's national currency.

Regarding economic projects, Kabulov added:
We are ready to participate in a number of economic projects, mainly based on business activity.

Russia's special envoy to Afghanistan has stated that Moscow has not turned a blind eye to Afghanistan's mines, but is ready to participate in its trade and economic projects.

The Russian president's special envoy for Afghanistan announced talks with the Taliban on gas, electricity and railways.

Earlier, Taliban officials had asked for Russia's help in rebuilding Afghanistan.
