Takht Ravanchi: Iran has Shown Good Cooperation with IAEA Even during the PandemicIn his remarks while addressing the 76th session of the UN General Assembly which unanimously approved the annual report of the IAEA, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Majid Takht Ravanchi said that the country has shown good cooperation with IAEA even during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We have close cooperation with the IAEA and have received the highest number of IAEA inspections among all member states,” Takht Ravanchi said while noting that this cooperation continues even during the current pandemic.

“Iran is implementing the IAEA safeguards agreement as it has been said in the latest report of the Director-General of the IAEA,” he emphasized and went on to refer to the US illegal withdrawal from the JCPOA in May 2018 and its unilateral and inhuman sanctions against Iran and noted that “These measures have prevented Iran from benefitting its legitimate rights under the resolution.”

Iranian ambassador also put emphasis on the fact that “Iran has complied with provisions of JCPOA, but US and European countries have violated their obligations.”

Finally, he announced that “Iran is ready to fully implement the JCPOA,” and added “Fully and effectively implementation of other sides commitments, the verifiable removal of all illegal sanctions, and also the guarantee that they will not violate the agreement once again is considered as prerequisites for Iran.”
