Monday, 15 November 2021 (YJC)_ The Commander of the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran traveled to France at the invitation of his French counterpart to participate in the Eighth Summit of Naval Commanders.
According to the Navy Public Relations, Admiral Shahram Irani said about the objectives of this trip:
The focus of the Ionians Summit is on the security of the Indian Ocean, which the countries bordering the ocean are working on in various dimensions, especially in the fight against piracy, maritime safety and assistance to vessels in distress.
The Commander of the Navy stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has chaired the Ivons Summit for 2 years and is currently chairing the Security Committee:
We have attended this summit for two purposes; First, we present a report on the activities of the Security Committee and future plans, including planning for naval exercises in the Indian Ocean countries, and we have written a book that will be the common language for operations at sea.
Admiral Shahram Irani continued:
The Islamic Republic of Iran has also prepared a document and will present it to the commanders of the navies of the countries bordering the Indian Ocean in which it will discuss the security of this blue zone.
He added:
What we will pursue on the sidelines of the Ivory Summit will be holding bilateral, trilateral and multilateral meetings with the highest priority of improving the level of maritime relations.
The commander of the navy described the language of the sea as the common language of all countries and said:
Security and peace are dictated by the sea itself to the world, and all countries can stand together without intermediaries.
Admiral Shahram Irani pointed out:
The Islamic Republic of Iran has shown the world over the past decade that it has the capacity to establish good and authoritative security in the North Indian Ocean.
