Monday, 15 November 2021 (YJC)_ The US and French foreign ministers discussed Russia's military activities and discussed joint efforts to address Iran's nuclear program.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke by telephone Monday morning with his French counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian.
The State Department said in a statement that Blinken had spoken to Loudrian about the status of Iran's nuclear program and efforts to revive the JCPOA.
The statement said:
Anthony Blinken spoke with Jean-Yves Le Drian to discuss reports of disturbing Russian military activity near Ukraine and their continued commitment (US and French) to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ministry further explained that the two countries' foreign ministers also discussed joint efforts to address Iran's nuclear program.
Blinken also announced on his Twitter page:
Lodrian and I talked about our concerns about Russia's military action against Ukraine. We also discussed joint steps to address Iran's nuclear program.
It should be noted that this is the second consultative meeting between the US and French foreign ministers in the last 40 hours. Earlier, Loudrian had announced on Saturday evening:
I talked about the Iranian nuclear issue as we approached the resumption of talks on reviving the JCPOA.
