Saturday, 13 November 2021 (YJC)_ China's foreign minister said in a statement today (Saturday) that the United States should stop sending the wrong signal to Taiwanese separatists.
Tensions between Beijing and the West over Taiwan have escalated following the recent provocative visit of European and American delegations to Taiwan.
According to Sputnik, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi today (Saturday) warned pro-Taiwan secession forces from Beijing that the United States was sending "wrong signals."
Referring to Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming virtual conversation with his US counterpart Joe Biden, Wang Yi stressed that Washington must live up to its commitments to Taiwan and not support Taiwan's secession from China.
The Chinese foreign minister's remarks came as Biden recently reiterated Washington's defense of Taiwan, saying the United States was committed to supporting Taiwan in the event of a possible Chinese military strike.
The Taiwanese president also acknowledged that US troops were stationed in Taiwan to train the island's troops.
