Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sari announced this morning (Saturday) that a US drone had been shot down in Ma'rib province.
A spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces said:
This morning, our air defense was able to shoot down an American-made Eagle-type spy drone during a hostile operation.
Yahya Sari, noting that the drone had been shot down in the al-Juba area of Ma'rib province, said that the American drone had been shot down with a suitable weapon and that images of its carcass would be released soon.
He concluded by noting that this is the sixth Eagle-scanning drone that the Yemeni air defense has been able to shoot down this year.
The announcement comes just days after the Yemeni military announced that it had shot down a fifth US Eagle scanning drone in Marib.
