Friday, 12 November 2021 (YJC)_ In order to save Afghanistan, Iranian Foreign Ministry's Director General for West Asia urged Taliban to seize the good opportunity of regional consensus.
Iranian Foreign Ministry's Director General for West Asia Rasoul Mousavi said that Taliban should seize the good opportunity of regional consensus in order to save Afghanistan.
He referred to the statements adopted in Iran, Pakistan and Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan and urged Taliban to accept the joint chapter of the three statements to solve the crisis in the country.
“The two previous statements adopted in Tehran and Islamabad are very close to the New Delhi statement,” he said while adding that “Similar concerns, demands and calls were mutual issues in these statements.”
He called this a great opportunity to be seized by Taliban in order to save Afghanistan.
Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan’ kicked off with participation of neighbors of Afghanistan and the Central Asian states on November 9 while Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani participated in the meeting.
Iran, Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan were among the countries that attended the event.
