Iraqi Defense Minister Juma Anad met with Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman.
The meeting focused on ways to develop bilateral relations and defense co-operation, as well as issues of mutual concern, the Saudi news agency WASS reported.
Also present at the meeting were Fayyaz bin Hamid al-Rawili, Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Saudi Army, Khalid bin Hussein al-Bayari, Deputy Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Military Adviser to the Minister of Defense, Hisham bin Abdul Aziz bin Saif The office of the Deputy Minister of Defense and "Nasser bin Talib Al-Saadoun", a Saudi military affiliate, were present in Baghdad.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defense also said in a statement that the Iraqi Minister of Defense, Anad, had traveled to Saudi Arabia on Friday at the invitation of Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
The statement said that the Saudi Deputy Defense Minister welcomed the stubbornness and held a meeting with him, during which he discussed ways to develop bilateral relations and cooperation in the field of defense, as well as common issues.
Last November, Saudi Arabia and Iraq agreed to cooperate and coordinate on various security, military and intelligence issues.
