Ali Bagheri, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is in Paris on the first destination of his visit to several European countries, met with Philippe Aurora, Director General of the French Foreign Ministry, at the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday (yesterday).
According to the plan, Bagheri left Paris for Berlin last night and is scheduled to travel to England after that.
According to the Tass news agency, the political deputy minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran spoke in an interview with the French newspaper Figaro about the role of Paris in the JCPOA talks.
According to the report, Bagheri, in explaining his meeting with the Political Director General of the French Foreign Ministry, said:
Although the approaches of Russia or China are closer to our position, from the moment of today's meeting (with Aurora) I imagine that France wants to play a more serious role in these negotiations.
Political Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian added:
If France takes a more independent stance from now on, it will strengthen its position as a negotiating country.
