Tuesday, 9 November 2021 (YJC)_ In a phone conversation with his German counterpart, Iranian foreign minister took US administration responsible for nuclear deal problems.
In a phone conversation with his German counterpart Heiko Maas, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian took US administration responsible for nuclear deal problems.
“The US administration is the main culprit in creating current situation in issues related to JCPOA,” Iranian FM said.
He went on to say that “Our distrust is mainly due to the US unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA in May 2018 and the inaction of E3 involved in nuclear talks.”
Iranian foreign minister also said the country wants “complete and immediate lifting of sanctions imposed against Iran.”
Finally, he highlighted the need or the European parties to refrain from making provocative remarks and added that “Language of force and threats by the US on nuclear talks cannot help solve problems.”
For his part, German Foreign minister said that Berlin understands Iran's distrust of the other sides and promise that the country would do its most to bring the US back to the nuclear deal.
Bilateral ties and regional and international developments were among other issues discussed during the phone talk.
Previously, yesterday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that “in order to return to the nuclear deal the steps are clear for the US administration. All oppressive sanctions against Iran should be lifted completely and effectively.”
Also, on Saturday, Russian and Iranian foreign ministers, Sergei Lavrov and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had a telephone talk in which they discussed the return of the JCPOA to its original format and the resumption of Vienna talks on reviving the JCPOA.
Amir-Abdollahian also had a phone talk with UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, in which he stressed the need for taking US accountable for the current situation and called some other JCPOA parties responsible for that as well.
He also related the success of Vienna talks to the “lifting of all sanctions against Tehran, the return of all parties to their commitments, and providing the necessary guarantees for the implementation of the results of the talks and the verification of the other sides' actions.”
