"We are trying to end the siege of the Gaza Strip by any means," said Khalil al-Hayat, head of Hamas' Arab and Islamic relations office.
Shahab news agency quoted Al-Hayya as saying:
We are proud of our relations with Iran, we do not hide it, and we welcome it as long as there is any support for Palestine and Jerusalem.
"Iran supports Hamas in all its forms and this support continues," he said.
Iranian support has been and is a contributing factor to the strength and ability of the resistance in Palestine.
Al-Hayat also addressed the countries that normalized their relations with the Zionist regime, saying:
The countries, individuals or institutions that have normalized their relations with Israel are in fact stabbing the Palestinian people from behind.
He said that Hamas separates the prisoner exchange case from the case of ending the siege, noting that the Zionist regime is obstructing the exchange of prisoners.
Al-Hayya emphasized:
We will not accept a long-term ceasefire without reaching a full political agreement that guarantees the right of our people to return and form a [Palestinian] state ... We cannot accept a long-term ceasefire in exchange for opening the crossings and lifting the siege.
The Hamas official criticized the security coordination of the Palestinian Authority with the Zionist regime, emphasizing:
Today, the organization has become a burden on the Palestinian national project.
