Monday, 8 November 2021 (YJC)_ In a phone conversation with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of UK, Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the need for London to pay back the debts to Iran as soon as possible.
In this phone call on Monday with UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Iran Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed the need for London to pay back the debts to Iran as soon as possible.
During this phone talk, bilateral issues, Vienna talks as well as some other regional issues were discussed.
Amir-Abdollahian told Liz Truss that most of the trade agreements reached between the two countries after JCPOA have not been implemented and promotion of trade volume and facilitating financial relations requires more action on the part of London.
Iranian FM also stressed the need for taking US accountable for the current situation and called some other JCPOA parties responsible for that as well. He also related the success of Vienna talks to the “lifting of all sanctions against Tehran, the return of all parties to their commitments, and providing the necessary guarantees for the implementation of the results of the talks and the verification of the other sides' actions.”
Amir-Abdollahian also referred to the “normalization of trade relations with Iran” as one of the commitments accepted by the other parties to the JCPOA and urged different parties to fulfill it in Vienna talks.
For her part, Liz Truss said that E3 are eager and serious to advance the negotiations and also welcomed the date set by Iran to resume the Vienna talks.
Last week, it has been announced that the next round of talks aimed at removal of the US sanctions in Vienna will be held on November 29.
Also, on Saturday, Russian and Iranian foreign ministers, Sergei Lavrov and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had a telephone talk in which they discussed the return of the JCPOA to its original format and the resumption of Vienna talks on reviving the JCPOA.
Uring this phone talk, Amir-Abdollahian asked for realist and constructive demands from EU and US regarding the Nuclear deal and said that “Iran is serious in the talks and the need for all parties to return to their obligations.”
Also, today, in his weekly press conference, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that “in order to return to the nuclear deal the steps are clear for the US administration. All oppressive sanctions against Iran should be lifted completely and effectively.”
