Ali Shamkhani, secretary of our country's Supreme National Security Council, tweeted this morning (Sunday) in response to the assassination attempt on Mustafa al-Kazemi:
The assassination attempt on the Iraqi Prime Minister is a new sedition that must be traced back to foreign think tanks, which for years, with the creation and support of terrorist groups, have brought nothing but insecurity and discord and instability to the oppressed people of Iraq.
AFP quoted security sources in Iraq as saying that an airstrike had been carried out near the home of Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi in the Green Zone.
Some sources have blamed the attack on an explosive drone and others on a Katyusha missile. No official government source or Iraqi media outlet has confirmed the news
