The Iranian Foreign Ministry released a readout of the phone conversation and announced that Lavrov hoped his Iranian counterpart gets rid of Coronavirus in a near future.

For his part, Amir-Abdollahian thanked the Russian counterpart for asking about his health condition, then referred to the agreement reached with EU’s Enrique Mora on the timing of the start of the talks with the P4 + 1 and added “The European and American sides should avoid making excessive demands beyond the JCPOA provisions in order to have rapid progress of the talks.”

He also asked for realist and constructive demands from EU and US regarding the Nuclear deal and sai d that “Iran is serious in the talks and the need for all parties to return to their obligations.”

Amir-Abdollahian went on to refer to the recent sanctions imposed by the US against Iran and noted that “Iran has doubts about the intentions of the American side,” and also added “Iran will in turn return to fulfilling all its obligations, only if US fully returns to its obligations and does not make excessive demands.”

Finally, he referred to the constructive cooperation of Iran with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and put emphasis on the fact that “IAEA Director General should refrain from adopting politically motivated stances. Iran will continue technical cooperation with the IAEA.”
