Saturday, 6 November 2021 (YJC)_ German police say a knife attack on a long-distance train in the south of the country has injured several people.
The German Federal Police announced today (Saturday) that a knife attack on a train in the southern state of Bavaria has left several people injured.
According to Deutsche Welle, a German police spokesman said the details of the incident were unknown, but police received a call at around 9:20 a.m. (local time).
According to local police, the person thought to be the perpetrator of the attack has been arrested and is no longer a threat. The train is currently stopped near the town of Siebersdorf in Bavaria.
The train was traveling between the cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg at the time of the Neumarket attack.
The German newspaper Bild reported that three people were injured in the incident, two of whom are in critical condition.
A Deutsche Welle spokesman for the German National Railways said the railway line between the two cities had been closed since around 9am.
