Vietnam: We are negotiating with Iran over a seized oil tankerThe Vietnamese Foreign Ministry announced today (Thursday) that it has entered into negotiations with the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the confiscated tanker of this country.

The Associated Press quoted two US officials as saying yesterday (Wednesday) that Iran had seized a Vietnam-flagged tanker in the Oman Sea and still owns the tanker and maintains it in Bandar Abbas.

According to ArabNews, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry responded by saying that all 26 sailors on the tanker were in good health and that Vietnamese officials were in talks with Iranian officials about the tanker.

Two U.S. officials, who were not named by the Associated Press, said the IRGC had seized a Vietnamese-flagged oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman in late October.

The IRGC navy's operation against the US Terrorist Navy fleet, which was announced yesterday, was carried out last week to seize a Vietnam-flagged tanker called SOTHYS, after which US terrorists seized an Iranian tanker carrying oil cargo. It was unloaded in a Vietnamese tanker and intended to be diverted.

In this operation, which was carried out in combination in the offshore area by floating, commando, air and naval units with the support of IRGC naval drones, American terrorists with a significant number of surface and flight units intended to intervene and prevent the seizure of the tanker carrying the stolen cargo. They have failed to achieve their goal with the determination and actions of the IRGC naval fighters.
