Tuesday, 2 November 2021 (YJC)_ Russia will sell S-500 missile defense weapons to China and India in the future, said Dmitry Shugayev, head of Russia's Federal Organization for Technical-Military Cooperation.
In an interview with Russian television, Shugayev said on Tuesday that the first buyers of the S-500 missile defense systems would be Russia, India and China.
According to the head of the Russian Federal Organization for Technical-Military Cooperation, whenever enough S-500 weapons are delivered to the Russian army, it will be possible to export these weapons.
He added:
We consider India, China as well as old partners for the delivery of these weapons in the future.
Shogayev said:
The Russian Military-Technical Cooperation Organization will consider each request for the purchase of the S-500 separately.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday during a meeting on Russia's defense industry with the participation of the Minister of Defense and senior military and defense industry officials in the Russian port city of Sochi:
The first mass-produced S-500 series will soon be delivered to the Russian military.
The S-500 (Prometheus) system is designed to replace the S-400 Triumph air defense system and can destroy all existing and future aerospace assault weapons at a maximum altitude of 200 km and a range of 500 km.
According to Putin, in the coming years more than 200 military aircraft and helicopters and 26 S-350 and S-400 missile defense systems will be delivered to Russian missile units.
