In a letter to US President Joe Biden, 200 Republicans in the US Congress stated their opposition to the reopening of the US consulate in East Jerusalem to serve the Palestinians, according to the Palestinian news agency Sama.
These members further emphasized:
The reopening of the US consulate in Jerusalem is "illegal" and it is "unacceptable, wrong and shameful" because the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the "capital of Israel"!
They further called on the US government not to take any action to implement this decision.
