Monday, 1 November 2021 (YJC)_ Iranian Vice-President blasted the US for sanctions and economic war against Iran while comparing it with the world’s great dictators.

Iranian VP: US Economic War against Iranians Worse than Saddam, HitlerDuring his remarks on Monday, Iranian Vice-President for Economic Affairs Mohsen Rezaei blasted the US for sanctions and economic war against Iran while comparing it with the world’s great dictators.

“Right now, the world recognize that a second war has been imposed on Iran which is the economic war, (this is after the first war by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein),” he said.

He went on to explain that “Iran has clearly shown through nuclear deal that it is not looking for a war, whether military or economic” and noted “What we seek is the progress, of our own country and of the whole world.”

Furthermore, he compared war and economic sanctions and said “Economic sanctions are often worse than war, crimes committed by US’s imposed economic sanctions are no less than the cruelties committed by Saddam and Hitler.”

Recently, Head of the Iranian Judiciary's High Council for Human Rights Kazzem Qaribabadi reacted to the recent remarks made by Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde and criticized Sweden for over-compliance with the US sanctions by halting shipment of medical equipment to Iran.

On October 19, a group of UN experts warned that the US cruel sanctions could strip Iranian patients of their human rights, particularly the right to health.

Also, The Sweden foreign minister tweeted a message on his twitter account and claimed that the situation of human rights in Iran is very serious.

Qaribabadi wrote to her that “I draw the attention of Sweden FM on Oct 19 statement of several UN Human Rights Experts titled 'Sweden Over-compliance with US sanctions harms Iranians’ right to health'.”
