Sunday, 31 October 2021 (YJC)_ Thousands rallied on Saturday as the G20 summit began, urging them to take action against climate change.
The protest march in Rome coincides with a meeting of leaders of the world's 20 largest economies. The demonstrators called on G20 leaders to ensure equitable access to the corona vaccine for all countries in the world and to take action against climate change.
Environmental activists were primarily responsible for organizing and holding the demonstrations.
One of the protesters said:
We held this protest because of social and environmental issues and against the G20.
The demonstration took place as more than 6,000 police and about 500 soldiers were deployed in Rome to restore order and security.
