Sunday, 31 October 2021 (YJC)_ A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Saturday that the Russian foreign minister had no plans to meet with his US counterpart on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome.
The Russian government has denied any plans to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his US counterpart Anthony Blinken.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Saturday that Lavrov had no plans to meet with members of the US delegation during his G20 summit in Rome.
According to the Tass news agency, Zakharova said in an online interview in response to a question about the schedule of the Russian Foreign Minister's meetings in Rome:
Our American colleagues are not mentioned in the program.
Zakharova added that Lavrov is scheduled to meet with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Mayo on Sunday to attend the G20 summit.
The Russian diplomat also added that "no substantive discussion" on Russian-European gas issues took place during Lavrov's meeting on Saturday.
