Saturday, 30 October 2021 (YJC)_ Russia's permanent representative to international organizations based in Vienna stressed that the current situation in JCPOA is the result of the Trump administration's policy of "maximum pressure" against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations based in Vienna, said all the current problems with the JCPOA were the result of a policy of "maximum pressure" on former US President Donald Trump's administration.
In response to a tweet from Richard Goldberg, a member of the American Foundation for the Defense of Democracy, Ulyanov stated that the current problems surrounding the JCPOA are the result of the US policy of maximum pressure.
In a message posted on his Twitter page yesterday (Friday), Goldberg criticized Iran for the Vienna talks on reviving JCPOA, and wrote without mentioning the US's obligations:
It is difficult to see in the last nine months anything but a regime that's a Biden administration and a naive and irrational European obsession with the IAEA to prevent sanctions from being implemented, to stabilize its economy, to avoid International Atomic Energy Agency blame, and to expand its nuclear program.
In response to Goldberg, Ulyanov wrote in a Twitter message:
There is definitely one obvious aspect that does not fall into the category of propaganda, and that is the fact that all the problems are the result of the previous US administration's policy of maximum pressure. Please read one by one the Agency's quarterly reports for the period 2016 to 2021.
