Friday, 29 October 2021 (YJC)_ Iran's permanent Ambassador to the United Nations criticized the regimes who themselves hold nuclear weapons and taking no action regarding disarmament.
In his remarks after the UN Disarmament and International Security (First Committee) approved the resolution presented by Iran, Iran's permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Majid Takht-Ravanchi criticized the regimes who themselves hold nuclear weapons and taking no action regarding disarmament.
“Countries who have nuclear weapons are unwilling to give up their nuclear disarmament commitments, they only seek justification and say that the necessary ground is not ready for nuclear disarmament,” Iranian Envoy said.
“Their justification cannot be bought,” he noted while adding “This is not justifiable as they committed themselves to nuclear disarmament in 1970.”
Iran proposed a resolution the follow-up on the implementation of the agreements reached at the NPT Review Conferences of 1995, 2000 and 2010", was adopted with the support of a majority of the members of the UN Disarmament and International Security (First Committee).
