Wednesday, 27 October 2021 (YJC)_ The French president's office said in a statement that the president's talks with his Chinese counterpart on a variety of issues, including Iran.

Dialogue between the Presidents of France and China on Iran and JCPOAThe French presidency said President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese President Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation on Tuesday on issues including Afghanistan and Iran.

According to a statement from the French presidency, Macron stressed the need to put an end to what he called "Iran's disruptive activities".

Macron also said that Iran should resume full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

What the French president has described as Iran's violation of the nuclear deal is, in fact, the gradual departure of our country from its voluntary commitments in the agreement as a result of the sanctions imposed by the US government after its unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA. European governments, including France, have lived up to their commitments to normalize economic relations with Iran in order to reduce the impact of sanctions.

Iranian officials have said the measures are reversible and will be reinstated as soon as the nuclear deal is fully implemented by all its members.
