Tuesday, 26 October 2021 (YJC)_ Head of the Iranian Judiciary's High Council for Human Rights blasts UN special rapporteur and said that his report is using human rights as an instrument against Iran.
In reaction to a report issued by UN special rapporteur Javaid Rehman on situation of human rights in Iran, Head of the Iranian Judiciary's High Council for Human Rights Kazzem Qaribabadi said that this report is using human rights as an instrument against Iran.
“Currently the world is suffering from the policies of such Western countries like the US and Iran, itself, is a victim of the inhuman attitudes of this country, therefore, releasing such a report in this situation is completely political and diversionary,” Qaribabadi said.
He wen on to note that the report issued by UN special rapporteur intentionally denied instances of extensive progress in the area of human rights in Iran and said “Claims made by foreign-based anti-Iran terrorist groups, which themselves are guilty of violating human rights were used by the so-called UN official,”
Iranian official also highlighted the fact that the county “is constantly moves towards enhancement of human rights,” and said “Religious guidelines are the evidence of this, not international obligations or political reports.”
