Tuesday, 26 October 2021 (YJC)_ In a telephone conversation with Xi Jinping, the Pakistani Prime Minister stressed the need to strengthen joint economic relations and cooperation.

Imran Khan and Chinese President emphasize on strengthening relationsAccording to the Islamabad-based Jang newspaper, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated Chinese President Xi Jinping on the centennial celebrations of the Chinese Communist Party.

The Office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan announced:
During a telephone conversation with the Chinese president on Tuesday, Imran Khan praised the country's great economic progress and exemplary victory in the fight against poverty.

He also praised Beijing's actions against the coronavirus, and praised its efforts to help developing countries fight the coronation and climate change.

Imran Khan and Xi Chejinping discussed all aspects of Pakistan-China strategic partnership, exchanged views on the regional and international situation, and stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, as well as the new situation in Afghanistan.

Referring to the importance of the role of the international community in the economic situation of the Afghan people, the Prime Minister of Pakistan said:
Afghanistan needs humanitarian assistance to escape the humanitarian catastrophe.

He invited Xi Jinping to visit Islamabad and thanked him for the timely completion of the C-Pack sub-projects.

During the talks, both sides agreed to strengthen economic and trade relations between Pakistan and China, and Imran Khan welcomed the Chinese investors' interest in C-Pak and informed the Chinese President of the imminent completion of the ML1 Geo-Economic Outlook project.
