Monday, 25 October 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian police commander announced that its forces have been confiscated over 1 ton of illicit drugs in the south eastern part of the country.

Police Commander: Over 1 Ton of Illicit Drugs Seized in SEThe Police Chief of Sistan and Baluchestan Second Brigadier General Ahmad Taheri announced that its forces have been confiscated over 1 ton of illicit drugs in the south eastern part of the country.

“An armed and organized drug-trafficking gang that intended to transfer a large consignment of narcotics to the center of the country, were identified and arrested,” he said while adding that it is done following the intelligence activities of the anti-narcotics police officers of Iranshahr and Khash.

He also said that when the gang members found themselves surrounded by his forces, they started to fire at them oblivious to the forces orders to stop.

The Iranian commander also said that “During the mission, two of the smugglers have been arrested and the rest of them fled to the highlands of the area.”

“1,118 kg of various narcotics, consisting of 964 kg of opium, 129 kg of hashish, and 24 kg of crystal were seized,” he said.
