Monday, 25 October 2021 (YJC)_ The South Korean Foreign Ministry says it is sending 1 million doses of Astraznka vaccine to Iran to help with the corona vaccination process in Iran.
South Korean media today (Monday) reported the delivery of 1 million doses of AstraZeneca's Covid 19 vaccine to Iran, quoting the country's Office for Disease Control and Prevention.
South Korea's foreign ministry said Seoul would soon send one million doses of Astraznka vaccine to Iran for humanitarian reasons to help with the vaccination process, Yonhap News Agency reported.
The vaccines will be delivered to Iran on Wednesday as part of a campaign to speed up the corona vaccination in the West Asian region and as a symbol of six decades of friendly relations between Tehran and Seoul, the ministry said.
Yonhap continued:
Diplomatic relations between Seoul and Tehran remain strained due to the freezing of Iranian assets in South Korea under the pretext of US sanctions, as well as the continuation of multilateral efforts to revive the Iran nuclear deal.
