Monday, 25 October 2021 (YJC)_ Russia's representative to international organizations based in Vienna said that Iran's request to guarantee the United States that it would not withdraw from the UN Security Council was logical and justifiable.
Russia's representative to international organizations based in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said on Sunday that Iran's request to the United States to guarantee a non-withdrawal from the nuclear deal was logical.
Asked about this, Ulyanov wrote on his Twitter account:
I think it depends on the negotiations. This demand of Iranians seems logical and justifiable. This [demand] is in line not only with diplomatic custom but also with primitive common sense.
He also wrote in response to a tweet about the US unwillingness to abide by an agreement:
I disagree with your summary. The participants in the Vienna talks have different views on some of the issues discussed, but all of them, including the United States, are committed to reviving the UN Security Council in its original form.
