Thursday, 21 October 2021 (YJC)_ Main and operational phase of air drill of Iranian Army known as Fadaeian-e Harim-e Velayat has begun.
Chief Commander of Iran’s Army Air Force Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi announced on Thursday that the main and operational phase of 10th air drill of Fadaeian-e Harim-e Velayat (Defenders of Velayat Sanctuary) began.
“The air drill is carried out for the first time in a decentralized form with the participation of all bases of Army Air Force and with a focus on airbase of Shahid Babaei in Isfahan, Shahid Yasini in Bushehr, Shahid Abdolkarimi in Bandar Abbas, Vahdati in Dezful and Shahid Fakouri in Tabriz under the direct command of Army Air Force Headquarters,” he said.
“F-4 and F-5 bombers equipped with pinpointing, smart and precision-guided missiles and F-7 aircraft equipped with ‘Yasin 90’ bombs and home-made rockets with innovative techniques were used in the first day of the exercises and they successfully destroyed the critical and vital targets of hypothetical enemy both on land and sea,” he added.
He went on to add that “The Command Center will communicate directly with pilots in fighter jets to carry out their mission during the drill to make targets of fighter jets determined from the Command post.”
“At the first stage of the drills, shooting against air targets with high speed and in various altitudes and air-to-ground bombardment were practiced by using smart, indigenous and upgraded heavy and semi-heavy bombs. Also, laser missiles, thermal television, radar and various rockets and bombs which were produced by the young Iranian experts.”
Manned and unmanned aircrafts of Iran’s Army Air Force are going to be used in the main phase and operational stage of 10th Air Force drill entitled Fadaeian-e Harim-e Velayat (Defenders of Velayat Sanctuary) which started on Thursday in the presence of Commander-in-Chief of Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Deputy Commander of Armed Forces and a number of senior commanders and officials of Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters.
