Wednesday, 20 October 2021 (YJC)_Iran will resume issuing tourist visas as of the beginning of the next month of the Iranian calendar (October 23), said the country’s minister of tourism on Tuesday.
According to Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Ezzatollah Zarghami, the 20-month ban on entry into the country for foreign tourists will end next Saturday coincided with the start of the Iranian month of Aban.
The minister made the remarks during a ceremony held to mark one hundred years of tourism in Iran.
He stressed that cooperation of all governmental bodies is a must to remove impediments to improve Iran’s tourism industry which was damaged due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Tourism in Iran has not been in a proper situation before the pandemic, however, it has been worsening in the post-COVID era. Now this patient needs to be cured,” Zarghami said urging the need to identify all obstacles on the way of the progress of tourism in the country.
He stressed the need for making vast investments in the field of tourism in order to encourage domestic and foreign investors to enter the market of Iran’s tourism.
