Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said on Tuesday that Moscow was ready to maintain a diverse and dynamic military cooperation with Iran.

Our relations are developing so dynamically and diversely that can be clearly demonstrated by the widespread fight against international terrorism.
Shoygu added:
We are ready to continue all our efforts to maintain the speed of development of our relations.
He added:
With regard to the next stages of work in this direction, we have things to discuss and Russia and Iran are actively fighting international terrorism in Syria.
"By moving in this direction, we can do this in different areas, given that the situation is not going to be easier," Shoygu said. This is about Afghanistan and the threats that come from this region. "These concerns include drug trafficking and the rise of ISIS in neighboring countries."
Referring to the situation of Afghan refugees, the Russian Defense Minister said that while the United States has left the country, it still calls on various countries to support Afghan refugees.
He stressed that the Russian and Iranian defense ministries have an intensive plan of joint action this year.
