Tuesday, 19 October 2021 (YJC)_ Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman announced that the upcoming visit of the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister to Brussels is aimed at discussing the grounds for JCPOA talks.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reacted to some misunderstandings from the recent remarks of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian regarding the start of negotiations between Iran and the Group 4+1 and said that the upcoming visit of the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister to Brussels is aimed at discussing the grounds for JCPOA talks.
“The only aim of the upcoming visit of Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Baqeri Kani to Brussels is to continue talks with Deputy EU Foreign Policy Chief Enrique Mora on the agreement reached in Tehran,”

Exchanging the views of the new Iranian administration with the EU on the conditions of the Vienna talks on removal of US unilateral sanctions against Iran and revival of the nuclear deal are among the issue to be discussed in Bagheri Kani’s visit.
Previously, during a meeting with Secretary-General of the Austrian Foreign Ministry Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani harshly criticized the passive approach by E3 (France, the UK and Germany) in fulfilling their obligations under JCPOA.
The 5th round of political talks between Iran and Austria was held in Tehran co-chaired by Baqeri Kani and Launsky-Tieffentha.
