Monday, 18 October 2021 (YJC)_During a meeting with Venezuelan foreign minister, the Iranian President said the country is determined to expand its ties with Latin American countries.
In his remarks during a meeting with the visiting Venezuelan foreign minister on Monday Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi said the country is determined to expand its ties with Latin American countries.
Today, president Ebrahim Raeisi received visiting Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Felix Plasencia for a meeting in Tehran.
“Among the priorities of Iran’s ecnomid diplomacy is Latin America, especially Venezuela, therefore, we are determined to develop our relations with these countries,” Iranian president noted.
He went on to point out the long-term cooperation program between Iran and Venezuela and said “Expanding and deepening ties is a clear prospect.”
Iranian president also referred to the visit of the Venezuelan President to Tehran in the near future, and “New steps will be taken for long-term cooperation between the two countries in this visit.”
Felix Plasencia for his part, said Iran and Venezuela are “united against the hegemonic powers” and called Iran as an important and influential country in the region.
“Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, along with Iran, is committed to defending multilateralism and countering the US intervention,” he said.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Felix Plasencia arrived in Tehran to meet with Iranian high-ranking officials. Thus far, he has met with Iranian President Raeisi and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
