Monday, 18 October 2021 (YJC)_ In a joint press conference with Amir-Abdollahian, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister called the relations between Iran and his country strategic and said: Iran is a strategic friend of the Venezuelan government, people and president.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Felix Placencia, who visited Tehran today (Monday) after a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, attended a joint press conference and explained the talks.
At first, he said that he was proud to be in Tehran:
Tehran is a city that I love and it is as if we are at home.
The Venezuelan diplomat said:
Iran is a strategic friend of the Venezuelan government, people and president. We had an important work program today and I am proud that Mr. Raisi received me this morning.
Plasencia also stated:
Iran-Venezuela relations are strategic and I am happy in Tehran and before the end of this year in Tehran we can hold a joint commission.
Referring to the condemnation of the arrest and extradition of a Venezuelan diplomat from Green Cape to the United States by Amir Abdullahian, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister noted:
Thank you for your order on the violation of Venezuelan sovereignty. The United States has violated Venezuela's interests. We thank the Iranian government for its commitment to condemn this act.
The Venezuelan diplomat added:
He was a member of the National Cabinet for Negotiations with the Opposition, who was abducted and we condemn this act.
He said:
Venezuela is a member of the United Nations and calls for solidarity and cooperation. Venezuela has had great leaders who fought against colonialism.
