Sunday, 17 October 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 11,396 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Sunday that 11,396 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours 1,482 of which has been hospitalized.
“A sum of 11,396 COVID-19 infections and 199 deaths has been identified due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 5,784,815.”
199 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 124,075,” the ministry added.
“4,769 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 5,324,108 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.
The ministry also added “34,008,636 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country.”
“As many as 7,2643,522 Covid 19 vaccines have been administered in the country so far,” according to the ministry.
It is also said that “More than 48 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 24 million have received the second dose.”
According to the latest figures, more than 241,317,429 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing 4,912,570 and recoveries amounting to 218,538,459.
