In his remarks during a press conference on Sunday, The Director of the 38th Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF), Sadegh Mousavi, said that the event was approved by the Academy Awards (Oscars).

He went on to say that “We are still far from the ideal point; however, this festival can be one of the best and most prestigious short film festivals. We managed to become the only Oscar-qualifying festival in Iran in the fields of the international section.”
“Iran, Egypt and Turkey are only Muslim countries that have been approved by the Academy Awards,” he added.
He went on to point out that last year 4,500 works were registered in the international section, and this year, over 2,000 works were added, and said “A grand prize of 5,000 Euros is considered for the top winner of this international cinematic event.”
