Saturday, 16 October 2021 (YJC)_ Secretary of Iran’ Supreme National Security Council reacted to President of Azerbaijan recent claims against Iran.

Shamkhani Warns Aliyev of Traps Laid by DevilsIn reaction to the recent allegations made by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev Secretary of Iran’ Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani posted a tweet message and warned that making false and statements is not a sign of good faith.

“Ignoring the neighborhood principles & making false statements can’t be a sign of a tact,” he wrote.

He went onto say “Accusation against a country that the world recognizes as a hero in the fight against drugs has no effect other than invalidating the speaker's words. Beware of the devil's costly traps.”

Prior to that Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reacted to Aliyev’s accusations and said he strongly criticizes it and called it as "surprising" and "fake".

During a videotaped address at a meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of the Heads of State in Minsk, Ilham Aliyev baselessly accused Iran and claimed that for years Armenia and Iran used the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh to transport drugs to Europe.

However, in his remarks during the same meeting, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan rejected Aliyev’s accusation, and said “Law enforcement bodies of Armenia and Iran are closely and effectively cooperating against illegal drug trafficking".
