Saturday, 16 October 2021 (YJC)_ Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces announced the country will hold a joint naval drill with Pakistan in near future.
In an interview with Iranian media at the end of his four-day visit to the neighboring country of Pakistan, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major-General Mohammad Bagheri announced the country will hold a joint naval drill with Pakistan in near future.
“We agreed to hold joint naval exercises in the future,” he said while announcing both sides agreed to increase intelligence cooperation on fighting terrorism.
“Pakistan has a special place in the foreign relations of Iran,” Gen. Bagheri added while noting that “We have agreed on the need to provide better security at the shared borders. Both neighbors made significant efforts to create border barriers, control commuting at the shared borders, drug trafficking, human trafficking and countering other elements of insecurity at the borders during recent years.”
Finally, he announced that “Fortunately, the shared border between the two countries is much safer than the past.”
