Saturday, 16 October 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian foreign ministry released a statement to condemned the terrorist attack in Afghanistan’s Southern city and also to call for unity among Shia and Sunni Muslims.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Underlined the Need for Unity among Shia and Sunni MuslimsIn a statement to react to the terrorist attack at a Shia Mosque in Afghanistan’s Southern city of Kandahar, the Iranian foreign ministry underlined the need for unity among Shia and Sunni Muslims to repel the divisive plots of the enemies.

The ministry called for integrity among Muslims while warning against enemy plots for the Muslim world and said “It is necessary to avoid violence and extremism in the name of Islam.”

Three back-to-back explosions that hit the Bibi Fatima Mosque during Friday prayers, more than 60 people were killed. That was one of the biggest blasts in Kandahar city.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, however the blasts came just a week after a bomb attack claimed by the ISIL terrorist group killed more than 150 people at a Shia Mosque in the northeastern city of Kunduz.
