Former US President Bill Clinton was admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles two days ago for treatment of a non-Covid-19 infection.
Clinton spokeswoman Angel Orina tweeted:
Former President Bill Clinton was admitted to the University of California, Irvine Medical Center on Tuesday evening for treatment of a non-Quid infection. He added that he is recovering and in good spirits.
The 75-year-old Clinton has been in the intensive care unit and does not use a respirator, the American network "Cyanan" reported, quoting her doctors. Cyanan added that his condition was not related to his former heart problems or coronary heart disease.
A second statement from Clinton's spokeswoman quoted doctors as saying she had been given injectable antibiotics and fluids.
His doctors said:
After two days of treatment, her white blood cell count dropped and she responded well to antibiotics. The California-based medical team has been in constant contact with the (former) New York-based president's medical team, including his cardiologist. We hope to bring him home soon.
