Friday, 15 October 2021 (YJC)_ Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran stressed the need to maintain stability and peace in Lebanon and condemned the shooting of innocent people.
Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said today (Friday) regarding the tragic events in Lebanon:
The Islamic Republic of Iran, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining the stability and peace of Lebanon, closely monitors the developments in Lebanon and believes that the people, the government and the army, along with the Lebanese resistance with their cohesion and unity, as always from sedition and The conspiracies that have their roots in the Zionist regime and are planned and carried out by the masters and agents of this regime, will pass successfully and proudly.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman condemned and expressed deep regret over the firing and shooting of innocent Lebanese people who were protesting peacefully:
It is necessary for the Lebanese government and officials to take urgent action to identify and arrest the perpetrators of these crimes and sedition among the Lebanese people.
Saeed Khatibzadeh expressed his condolences to the Lebanese government and people, especially the bereaved families, for the health of the injured and urgent healing.
Yesterday (Thursday), gunmen opened fire on protesters who were peacefully demonstrating in Beirut's Al-Tayouna district, killing and wounding scores.
