Tuesday, 12 October 2021 (YJC)_ Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps started large-scale aerial drills aimed at enhancing preparedness today.
Earlier today (Tuesday) and in the central desert areas of Iran a large-scale aerial drill has started by Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) with the aim of enhancing preparedness for defending the country’s skies.
This is the operational phase of the joint large-scale drill, which codenamed Modafe’an-e Aseman-e Velayat 1400 (Defenders of Velayat Skies 1400), that has started today.
Participants of these drills are Iranian Army's Air Defense Force, the IRGC Aerospace Division and the Army’s Air Force.
The goal behind these drills is to boost the combat preparedness, to strengthen deterrent power, to evaluate the homegrown air defense systems in countering various threat, to improve knowledge and skill of the units and to enhance coordination among the Army and the IRGC’s command and control centers.
Combined, indigenous and creative tactics and techniques are employed by the units participating in these drills. Also, the usage of modern technology is what makes this maneuver prominent.
