Saturday, 9 October 2021 (YJC)_ Russia's foreign minister has said that given the European Union's insanity against Moscow, it cannot rely on European countries for economic reasons.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told members of the European Business Association in Russia that Russia could not trust the European Union in economic matters because Brussels could impose sanctions on Moscow at any time.
The head of the Russian diplomatic service stated in this regard:
We find that it is simply not permissible for a power like Russia to rely on strategic economic fields, on the military industry, to provide technology and components from countries that can impose sanctions on us overnight.
Lavrov noted that Russia and the European Union previously had joint ventures, in particular the joint production of military equipment with Ukraine and the Baltic states.
He added:
We used to have such collaborations, but now it is becoming history. We are ready to resume it, but there is no guarantee that in a new phase some of the EU fears will not want to punish us. Do not call for new sanctions.
Lavrov also suggested that Europeans listen more to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
