Saturday, 9 October 2021 (YJC)_ The Russian Foreign Ministry has asked the US embassy in Moscow to revoke the diplomatic immunity of three members of the embassy on charges of theft.
Russia's Tass news agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying that three employees of the US embassy in Moscow were suspected of stealing the personal belongings of a Russian citizen.
According to Tass, the ministry sent an official letter to the United States asking it to waive the diplomatic immunity of the three in order to bring charges against them and bring them to justice.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added without elaborating that the suspects should leave Russia immediately if the US embassy refuses.
Earlier, in the wake of diplomatic tensions in Washington and Moscow, a number of US senators called for the expulsion of more Russian diplomats.
