Friday, 8 October 2021 (YJC)_ After arriving in Bushehr province, the President visited the IRGC's Shahid Mahallati Maritime Institute and closely inspected the construction and completion of the Shahid Soleimani ship and various naval vessels.
During the visit, which was accompanied by the Ministers of Roads, Urban Development, Interior and Oil, Ayatollah Seyyed Ibrahim Ra'isi was briefed on the various stages of design, construction and repair of naval vessels, with the report of Admiral Tangsiri, Commander of the IRGC Navy, and officials of the Shahid Mahallati Center.
The visit commemorated the martyrs, especially Nader Mahdavi, who bravely stood up to foreign aggression, during the visit, which coincides with the anniversary of the IRGC sailors' epic confrontation with American aggressors.
The President called this industrial complex valuable and very important and said:
The activities carried out to design and build vessels in different classes are a manifestation of self-sufficiency and, while having a defensive aspect, also play an important role in activating the maritime economy and preventing the outflow of currency from the country.
Raisi stressed the need to try to localize the technology of the shipbuilding industry and said:
The government supports the activities carried out in this field.
The President also met with the workers working in the complex and emphasized the use of indigenous forces in the province's industrial and shipbuilding centers.
