Friday, 8 October 2021 (YJC)_ The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that the talks between Tehran and Riyadh are moving in the right direction, stated that Iran and Saudi Arabia have reached agreements in some cases.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in an interview with Al-Mayadin this afternoon (Friday) addressed various issues, including the Tehran-Riyadh talks.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran said in this regard:
The Iran-Saudi Arabia dialogue is moving in the right direction and we need more dialogue.
Hussein Amir Abdullahian added:
We and Saudi Arabia have reached agreements on some issues, and we welcome these talks.
Amir Abdullahian continued:
Our talks with Saudi Arabia are in the interest of the region. This is a constructive dialogue. Iran and Saudi Arabia are two important countries and play an important role in stabilizing security in the region.
He added
Iran believes that the equation of dialogue and welcome can have a bright future for the region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran further referred to and emphasized the nuclear talks:
We will not waste our time negotiating unless the other side is serious about returning to it. If the United States is serious about returning to the nuclear deal, we can count on it.
Hussein Amir Abdullahian continued:
The main goal of the Iranian government is a comprehensive multilateral economic plan. In the near future, you will see the results of Iran's initiatives to establish peace and security in the region.
