Wednesday, 6 October 2021 (YJC)_ At the suggestion of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and with the approval of the Cabinet, the President appointed Ali Salehabadi as the Governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ali Salehabadi was introduced as the new Governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic in today's meeting of the government on October 6, 2021.
It is worth mentioning that Salehabadi was the CEO of the Export Development Bank of Iran before this ruling. He used to be the head of the Stock Exchange and Securities Organization from 2005 to 2014.
He has a master's degree in Islamic education and financial management from Imam Sadegh University and a doctorate in financial management from the University of Tehran and is a member of the faculty of Imam Sadegh University.
Salehabadi resigned from the post of head of the Iranian Stock Exchange and Securities Organization on December 16, 2014, and Mohammad Fatanatfard took over the post.
He is also the founder of the Islamic Financial Association of Iran.
